ERROR: registrationRequest rejected: discoveryRequired
Cause: Registration Rejection was found when utilizing Opal connection to Avaya when a network drop, PBX system recycle or ticket miss-match occurred. The underlying issue is due to OPAL correctly attempting to register after a failure to the Backup PBX. During the initial registration to the PBX(gatekeeper) a backup PBX IP address is relayed back to OPAL. When this failure occurs OPAL attempts to connect to the Backup PBX which is not actually up and receives the registration rejection, OPAL continues to attempt registration to the Backup PBX but does not try the Primary PBX again, rather stays in a continuous loop trying to register to the Backup PBX.
Implications: Outbound H.323 fails to answer.
Resolution Action: Creation of a .vbs script to parse the OPAL log for the registrationRequest rejected: discoveryRequired phrase. In turn a stop/restart of Cyara Voice Gateway and Call Engine in order for OPAL to register to the Primary PBX(gatekeeper). The script will also output a log for failures and a log if not found, as well as send an email that the error has been found. Creating a Windows Task Scheduler to parse the log every 10 minutes due to Outbound H.323 campaigns running every 15 minutes.
