Starting with Cyara 2020.4 our customers no longer need assistance from Cyara to schedule and run load tests. The Cyara 2020.4 brings full service to load testing, accelerating the scheduling process while making it more convenient and fully automated.
- To book a test, simply go to the “Tools” menu on the cyara portal and select the load test booking option. On the screen, you will see the calendar view, which is very similar to outlook and google calendar.
- Select a time bracket for your testing and then fill out the simple form:
- Load Test Name
- From and To Date and Time : This should be set as per the Schedule of the Load test, the time zone would be same as the browse or device time zone from which the Load test is being booked. For example, if your laptop is set for EST time zone, the calendar shown to you would be in the EST time zone regardless of the Account or Cyara portal time zone.
- Select Communication Channels : Voice Inbound, Voice Outbound, Voice Inbound + Outbound, Voice Inbound + Agents, or Web
- Select Number of Ports : Number of maximum concurrent ports being used in the voice test campaign throughout the load test run. Note: The ports are automatically split in 20:80% ratio between the Cruncher and Cruncher Lite ports.
- Choose the Max CAPS (or APS for web): Please keep in mind that the CAPS limit is the total “call attempts per second” that will be used by Cruncher and Cruncher Lite campaigns combined. If campaigns exceed the CAPS limit, the Cyara backend will automatically reject them.
- Select Dialing Mode: PSTN or Cloud Connect mode allows you to choose between carrier dialing or direct SIP for those who have an MPLS connection.
- Specify Numbers to Dial: This will help us to negotiate with our carriers and ensure that all routes are verified before beginning the load test.
- When done, click Confirm Booking
- If a booking is outside the business hours and doesn’t exceed 17000 ports it will be automatically approved and will be shown on the calendar in green color. Please be advised that the load test should be booked no later than 4 hours before the load test is scheduled to begin
- If a load test doesn’t go directly into the green-approved state and remains white, that means that the booking needs to be reviewed by the Cyara support representative. As soon as the load test request is reviewed, it can be either approved or rejected. While the booking is in the white (not approved) state, you can cancel it and choose a different time. Please the Load Test terms and conditions below. These terms and conditions lie behind our load test booking calendar logic
- If there are any conflicts during the timeframe selected for the load test, The dialogue will show a message that there is a potential conflict and the request won't be approved automatically. The Slot will be white colored with the black outline in this case until the request is approved. Once approved it will turn to Green and if rejected it will turn to Red.
- You can access your booking details at any time by clicking on the event on the calendar. Here, you can see the cruncher and cruncher lite split, as well as other details. You can also make updates to your booking if you need to change details, such as the time or the total number of ports
- Another important feature of the load test booking calendar is scheduled maintenance windows. Maintenance Windows are times when cyara or cyara carriers are performing work to optimize infrastructure performance. No load tests are permitted during these windows
