The Test Cases for the Email Channel are created to validate the email reply and response times of email sent out by your organization. Currently they support a single email initiated by the customer with a single reply from the organization. Email Test Cases can be used for Pulse and Cruncher Campaigns.
To create an Email Test Case, perform the following steps:
- From the Cyara Sidebar, select Buildand then click the New Test Case menu item.
- Select the
Channel from the drop-down list. Choose
Email. A screen as shown below is
displayed:
- Enter a unique name for the Test Case in the Name field.
- Browse to and select the Folder Path where the Test Case should be stored.
- Enter a description of the Test Case in the Description field.
- Enter Notes if any.
- Select the
Data Driven option. Data Driven Test Cases allow
you to place different dynamic data for each Email from the same Test Case.
Certain fields in the Test Case can be made dynamic. For more information, see
the
Data Driven Test Cases section.
- If you choose Data

YES, the options shown below appear:
You can choose either Upload File or Dynamic Data Service. If you choose Upload File, select the file.

- In the
Test Email section, enter the details for the
Customer Email:
- Enter the email address from your organization that is to receive the email.
- Choose from a pre-defined list of Email accounts for the customer.
- Enter a Subject.
- Enter the email Body to send.
- Enter the Minor/Major Threshold to time how long it takes to send the email (this is not the time at which it is received).
- Enter a Timeout value after which the send of the email will be stopped if not complete.
- In the
Test Email section, enter the details for the
organization's reply in the
Expected Email Reply:
- Enter the From address from which you expect the reply to be sent.
- Enter the Subject to match; leave blank to ignore this step.
- Enter the Body to match. The use of the Wildcard tag {*} is permitted here to block out changeable parts of the reply.
- Enter the Minor/Major Threshold to measure the response time for the expected reply.
- Enter a Timeout value after which the send of the email will be stopped if not complete.
