In the Cyara Platform, all data is stored in the database unencrypted by default. In cases where sensitive data needs to be encrypted at the database level, Cyara Database Encryption can be enabled.
You need to set up the database for encryption. Cyara uses a X.509 certificate to secure encryption. You will need the certificate before setting up database encryption. The X.509 certificate must be supplied by the customer.
Setting up database encryption is a four-step process:
- Obtain the X.509 certificate from the customer.
- Install the X.509 certificate in Windows for each server running the Web Portal, Omni Scheduler, or Voice Scheduler.
- Configure the Web Portal, Omni Scheduler, and Voice Scheduler to use database encryption.
- Encrypt the database using the database encryption tool.
Note: Before encrypting or decrypting the database, you must shut down the
Cyara Web Portal, Voice Scheduler, and Omni Scheduler. It is critical that the
Cyara Web Portal, Voice Scheduler, and Omni Scheduler remain offline until the
encryption or decryption process is complete.
